Oh look, a nice lil drugstore haul! :D
So I’ve posted about how Wegmans Supermarket has a killer makeup section, now here is some damage.
Elf Studio Line Powder Brush
Elf Studio Line Small Stipple Brush
NYX Butter Gloss in Strawberry Parfait
Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Audacious
Zoya Blyss Nail Polish
Zoya Beatrix Pixie Dust Nail Polish
Everything is from Wegmans except for the Zoya polishes, which I found at some beauty supply store. I have used everything except for the brushes.
The NYX Butter Gloss is lovely. I was excited then I got home and I was like “Ew why did I just buy a junky drugstore lipgloss this is going to be goopy and gross…” I was wrong. Excitement returned quickly. This stuff is excellent and worth the hype. It is extra smooth and makes even my dry lips appear flawless while moisturizing them. The color I got is a really pretty sheer wearable pink that works for everyone (that’s why I picked it) and I am sure I will be buying more of these very very soon. If you don’t have any of these go out and buy at least one of them. Lasts for about 2 hours but left a very subtle stain. The Revlon Matte Balm is awesome. The color Audacious is an orangey tomato color that looks so fun and summery. I’ve been wanting a color like this for a long time and it was an easy choice. You do have to take some time building it up to get it opaque and streak free but once you do it has such a lovely retro matte finish and it lasts fairly well and also leaves a slight stain. My only issue was it balled up on my lips a bit where I had dead skin and I should have really exfoliated well before wearing it so I didn’t have to keep making sure it wasn’t settling into dry patches. The thing that makes this product great is it isn’t drying in the slightest and is extremely comfortable like a balm, yet you get that matte finish and it won’t slip and slide on you. Definitely a winner, I have a few other shades in the line I would like to try eventually.
I already reviewed Blyss by Zoya. I was ecstatic to find a store that carried Zoya and got this for $8 rather than the usual $10. Basically, I got a manicure with this and it lasted over 2 weeks chip free on my fingernails. The color is very flattering on my pale skin and has a bit of blue duochrome. It’s bright but not too bright and is wearable for all seasons, I love it and I’m so happy to own it. I’ve still got it on my toes and I touched it up right when I bought this.
I was ridiculously excited about Beatrix by Zoya and I’m kind of obsessed. I fell in love with it when I saw a Temptalia swatch of it but since I haven’t really found Zoya where I live (I know it’s there somewhere) I haven’t thought to buy it. I’ll admit, it is not exactly what I expected from Temptalia’s swatch of it. It’s a bit darker and less yellow in person. Still gorgeous, though. I’m wearing it on my nails now and will possibly do a full review of it. I got this for $4 rather than the usual $10. I’m seriously kicking myself for not buying more in that sale section. So, that’s all for this haul! I’m obsessed with Zoya nail polish now (help me! A nail polish addiction is an expensive thing I most certainly can’t afford) and I am completely sure next time I go to the supermarket I’m going to end up picking up one or two more butter glosses.
Should I get both Kat Von D’s Palettes (Monarch & Chrysalis) or Create my own MAC palette?
Or is there anything else from Sephora/MAC that you recommend?
Do the Kat Von D palettes! :) The quality is soooo good.
